This painting is history on canvas! It is a shot of the day (May 24th, 2006) when the Peace Tower Clock on the Parliamentary tower stopped at 7:28am. The wild thing about this is that Canada was named, by our Founding Fathers, after Psalm 72:8 ("He will have dominion from sea to sea..."). The clock had never stopped before & the chances of it stopping of that exact number sequence is 1 in 1440! THIS is an encouraging sign. Coencidence? At the beginning of 2004 I was waiting on the Lord and began meditate on Ps. 104 which speaks of the awesome nature of God and his command over creation and the creatures of the earth. In verse 29 it says, "...when you take away their breath, they die and return to the dust." This tree is a reminder that without His breath we are desolate. It is only in Him that we have life. My name means Fly High in mandarin and I believe that is what we are called to in Christ: to fly HIGH. As believers God has called us to soar in love, power, abundance and the fullness of all He paid for on the Cross. This painting is of the first little boy I picked up in Liberia when I was there as a missionary. His name is Saye and I love him dearly. When I met him he was dying of malnutrition and his parents had abandoned him all together. We were able to get him totally rehabilitated and get him into school and placed in a good family. Theologians say that the four faces represent four aspects of the nature of God. I think they are onto something :). This series is in my living room.
